If he actually wrote that poem himself he is, at least, more talented than Ahmed the Clock Boy.

His piece begins with a lamentation: "Dear women, I'm sorry. Dear black people, I'm sorry. Dear Asian-Americans, dear Native Americans, dear immigrants who came here seeking a better life, I'm sorry. Dear everyone who isn't a middle or upper-class white boy, I'm sorry. I have started life on the top of the ladder while you were born on the first rung."

That's kind of insulting no ?

I have no words for how absurd this is. Now we're apologizing for our whiteness???

My parents started poor. Worked their a**es off...no vacations...no fancy crap...saved and worked even more. For one reason....to set me and my brother up for a better life than theirs. The most noble thing a parent can do.

If you didn't get the same "privilege" then it's NOT my fault or my parents fault. It's because YOUR PARENTS....through their own actions....didn't set you up for a better life. Malicious or lazy or just plain bad luck...it's what happened.

Well, I agree. He is one sorry, pathetic, misguided person.

Better him than me.

So should wealthy blacks or Asians apologize to everyone they've had an advantage over? Should the NBA MVP (Steph Curry) appologize because he didn't have a dead beat dad and his parents are wealthy? He owes an apology to 90% of the population.

The White boy is White Privilege. So much privilege in fact he can say what he wants , because he and his family can afford to. He himself is a trained actor and has appeared in several movies. The school he goes to costs $23,000 per year.

Many privileged kids like this live outside the norm. They are in ways detached and insulated from the true reality of life. Along with that comes a lack of sincerity and innocence which is covered up by drama and dramatic moments for attention. Capturing as he thought the mood of the nation. This was his moment. He took it and ran with it.

When he finishes , he will go back to his private school , read some Marxist books, quote at length to those who will listen when he goes to a top college. Get a job in banking, law or advertising. But always feel good about himself as champion of social injustice , as he races to get through the Black side of town on his way to the office.

His family is well to do, mother is a democrat activist, and he goes to a private progressive leaning school which runs $25k a year.

Yea, a mini-me version of his self loathing upper class white activist parents, who have benefited from the country they blame for all of the worlds problems.

Must be nice to live in a glass house.

The Irony of Reality

If they were serious they'd put him in a public school, and send the 25k to BSF which would cover the education of 3-4 gifted black students.

He'd never live where he'd be required to drive through "that part of town"

Now the 24k question is: did it earn him a trip to the White House? The bar has been set so low, just maybe it did.
