Some restaurant about an hour north of Seattle asked law enforcement officers who were dining there to not come back (and to spread the word among other LEOs) because customers didn't like law enforcement there:

Sheriff: Deputies asked not to dine at Sedro-Woolley restaurant | KOMO

Supposedly it was a misunderstanding due to a language barrier, but it seems pretty clear that the owner did ask the LEOs not to return.

What do y'all think?

Either, all businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason OR the restaurant owners should be charged with discrimination.

Make it well known like they have and let their other customers decide if they want to eat there also.

I never would set foot in the place again.

If this is true, the free market will correct this situation. The restaurant owners can be retrained in another field like Hillary says to coalminers!

Exactly, that guy isn't going to get the best service when he gets robbed would be my guess. I've been to Sedro and it's a fine little town and my guess is most people don't feel like that at all but no doubt there are some ignorant losers that don't want the cops around.

Personally I think it's stupid, but at the same time, I'm sure there are quite a few people on this forum that wouldn't have any problems with people of certain, cough cough, religious backgrounds being denied service in any restaurant.

Certainly muslims should be served. After a few questions, and observing body language. Bacon or sausage?

Haha, I can see it all 6 months from now:

"Hello, 911, this is the Lucky Teriyaki Restaurant. There is a man in here with a gun robbing us. Please send help right now !"

Dispatcher : " Oh, so sorry, but every officer is tied up right now. We will send someone over as soon as they can get free. Probably no more than an hour or two ! Too bad you didn't have any of them eating at your place when this happened !"

New sign out front of Lucky Teriyaki Restaurant will read "POLICE EAT FREE !"
