Being that Obama has been so divisive and untruthful it doesn't help when he does hit on the truth.
I think what Obama did was to force racial conversation out in the open, and American society is deeply uncomfortable with the fact that systematic racism is still so pervasive even though the conventional wisdom for decades has been no Civil Rights Act and affirmative action put an end to that, it's over, let's not talk about it anymore.
Yes a lot of white people are unfairly brushed with the racism feather, but there still a lot of bigoted white people out there, and almost all of them out their eggs in the Trump basket. Trump has given legitimacy to their views, and now you are seeing people that were thought to have gone by the wayside make a resurgence. The police are no exception. The FBI, under George W. Bush, released a report highlighting that white supremacist groups are infiltrating local police departments.
The problem is all these people arguing and getting angry over BLM and white people probably don't have, and never had, friends who were black if you're white, and white if you're black. Most of my friends are white, and I'm a minority. I don't have a problem with white people. If I did, I wouldn't have any white friends
Cops know there is a problem, but they encounter crime 24/7 and have been trained to shoot the way they do. All cops are trained to shoot to kill if there is any hint of impending attack.
They may shoot a person with a knife that is within 20 feet away. That is how they are trained.
And that is very wrong! They shoot to kill, instead of trying to disable the attacker, by aiming at his legs first. Often after the first bullet hits, they continue emptying the magazine which can be 15 bullets or more. This is not the case with police forces in most developed countries.

While I agreed with what he said, it is also true that one can not fully make a good argument for something they will not do themselves.

Not true. They shoot to stop by aiming for center mass. This is what they're taught. And the idea that cops should shoot to cripple or maim by shooting at the legs is idiotic.
