I don't think he wants the job any more.
Yale is chock full of remnants of our racist past.
The Skull & Bones fraternity, an ancient secret society only found in Yale along with others, once stole Geronimo's skull, and used it in their rituals until it was eventually stolen from them and returned very quietly to the Apache tribe.
Smashing an old window is a pretty pale comparison to that kind of institutional and barbaric vandalism.
Giving him his job back sends all the wrong messages. It will only encourage even worse behavior on the part of those who do not feel rules apply to them or that someone else's property is not theirs do as they please with.
I hope that is exactly what happens. That window should have been removed and/or destroyed long ago.
Why because it hurts shallow people's feelings? Should we change all the history books too now? How about clean out all the libraries for anything offensive? The news archives?
It's American history, why pretend it didn't exist? No one is glorifying it.

How about the pedestrian(s) under the window at the time he broke it? Can you sympathize with being showered with broken glass? It's a miracle no one was hurt by this selfish oaf's inability to control his impulses and address his grievance in a civil manner.
An employee who resigned from Yale University after he shattered a stained-glass window depicting slaves at work has accepted a new job at the school, his attorney said Tuesday.
Corey Menafee, an African-American man, had worked as a dishwasher and in other positions at Yale for eight years. He quit in June after he broke a window at the Calhoun College residential hall depicting two slaves carrying baskets of cotton. He has said he considered the images racist and degrading.
“Mr. Menefee is delighted to accept Yale’s offer” to return, said his attorney, Patricia Kane. He will be taking a dishwashing job at another college dining hall, she said.
A spokeswoman for Yale said Mr. Menafee could return to work Monday.
Yale students protested on Menafee's behalf and now NBC News has given him full-on hero status.

Young Chinese found a lot of things to break during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s. And more recently the Taliban and ISIS have bravely destroyed objectionable artwork in areas they control. What else needs smashing in America?
