Ok. Then change the system.

These problems have solutions.... If you don't like them then you need to come up with an alternative gun control. People notice those who blame but don't offer solutions and those people get overruled if they don't start producing. Another few mass attacks with an AR, you may quickly find you have a very small voice. I suggest to start coming up with meaningful gun laws before time runs out.

It is unconstitutional to tax rights.... There is no sales tax on a firearm.

It's up to whoever is selling the gun who they want to sell to.

The Brady people who got this law passed don't even try to fix this. It's the gun industry who is trying to fix it. About FixNICS | FixNICS.org The left always want to demonize the NRA but they are the ones who are working to fix this. The NRA and the gun industry doesn't want sandy hooks by crazy's.
That is a problem with the states, they cannot be forced to share mental health records, some have reports in the single digits. This came up in the VA Tech shooting, I believe they have addressed this but still a weak area. The NICS Act of 2007 addressed this but many states are still not compliant, should be an area for common ground but it has been ignored.

Your link indicates where the problem resides, if the NRA is working to improve this then let's see a press conference criticizing those states that are unwilling.

You think it's a solution to just remove all gun regulations and leave it to the seller, how do they screen the buyer.

Cash, credit or check? (i.e. ability to pay)

The present system is actually working pretty good. Gun homicides have been declining yearly for 22 years. Overall gun violence is at a 40 year low. No one, I would hope, would think that any new law would affect criminals. By nature, they ignore laws anyway.
The guns always mentioned, the AR type, are rarely used in crime.
The mass shootings are done by terrorists or the mentally ill, neither of which will pay attention to gun laws.
So, other than confiscation, seriously, what do you gun control people want?

If a person is so dangerous that we don't trust them with a firearm, why do we even let that person walk outside of prison or hospital?

Instead, we spend billions on background check while the bad guys are happily running around, raping and murdering people with and without guns.

Because the 2nd Amendment forbids any form of government to infringe on the ability of every person to have access to possession, to keep on their person, or in their dwelling, to make themselves, or obtain from another person in distribution, of arms. Big or small, loud or silent, deadly or incapacitating, in order for the people to maintain a free state, with liberty for all.

More liberty, not less.

So you all believe that the mentally ill, criminals and terrorists have the right to buy guns?
