We don't have a machine that can look into the mind of someone and say he/she is going to go nuts and start shooting people. The alternative most countries take is severely restrict access to guns which limits the carnage, but does not stop it.

We pay a high price in this country for the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

Liberty is very scary for those raised in a box with a helicopter mom.

When the numerous armed members of govt, congress, the executive branch, the supremes etc. all submit to psych testing from independent docs, then you come talk to the public at large about mental health.

Obama And his congress have killed how many? Should they posses weapons?
How many soldiers have killed innocent non combatants? Do we ban them from ownership too?
Yes there have been victims of mentally ill, you would have no issue with someone selling to you neighbor who just left an institution or the other neighbor with a felony gun crime charge. When they go out and kill some of the neighborhood children what is your response, no crime in the sale?

Those are already illegal. The possession, the sale to felons or mentally ill, and the murder.

Your chances of dying in a mass shooting are less than 1/10 of 1%. I'd say that's a long way from the "wild west".

Open immigration has nothing to do with that right? We are importing tribal savages at a high rate and have for 100 years. Mass shootings tend to happen in large urban centers where the shooter lives. Not too many farmboys in the big city.
