Not around here. City police make $38,000. County make less.

Why not?
It's the only job where you can say "Oops" or "I don't know" (Like the Miami cop said) and get away with murder.

So you seriously think that if a cop says, "get your hands up" and they reach into a pocket or a backpack, he should wait and see if they have a gun? By that time, it may be too late for the cop.

The officer didn't have gun out when the suspect goes behind the car.
When someone is not complying, officer should have gun ready to shoot and also take cover behind a car or wall something until he can assess situation.
I'm not saying cops job is not risky.
It is very risky and that's what they get trained for.
But killing innocent just because you think it could be a gun for a wallet/phone etc... is bad for both victim (well obviously) and police department.
No one says anything against cops who shoot and injure/kill someone who has weapon and trying to use it against cops, in fact they get awards and honors for killing shooters and they should rightfully.
so you would rather see dead cops and criminals roaming free? like i said before, YOU need to take the shoot /dont shoot course at the police academy, and see what the cops see regularly.

not saying that, however when someone does reach into a bag, especially after the cops tell them NOT to, then they get what they deserve. and the cops should be ready to shoot if need be.

you guys might think that the cops are your targets, but in reality they are not. cops want to avoid problems just like the rest of us, and they need your cooperation to do that. cooperate with them, and you both generally go home unharmed, and probably a little wiser.

If a cop says "get your hands up," then yes, one should do that, but if an officer says "let me see some ID" and you tell him that it is in your bag and he lets you go get it out of your bag, then no, it isn't warranted to shoot the person when they reach into their bag.

Nope.
I 100% would like to see dead criminals.
And I also like not to see any dead innocent civilian just because cop imagined something.

Yes, cop need to be on edge and be ready to shoot when someone doesn't comply but not complying should not be the ONLY reason to shoot.
Not obeying, resisting arrest is not death sentence.
Those are minor charges as per law compared to something that deserves death penalty.

It seems some people believe the confirmation should be when the bullet hits the policeman.
