Blacks owned most of black slaves.. just because you are defined as a black person today, who cares if slavery was in history , blacks , whites, Jews, Scottish , Irish and on and on.. today we are all a slave for a buck .. so what!!.. it ain't today so move on and stop looking like a baby all the time..boo hoo. You are not a slave. You don't make me feel bad not one bit. NOT AT ALL.
You say you live pretty good today, live in a very upscale community..good for you...so stop hating whites, and Michelle is the worst...a charmed life she lead.. must be her black guilt of her ancestors owning all those black slaves.. get over it and maybe you will feel better about yourself.
If you hate the majority of Americans and the history of America move to a better country instead of downing this one. The democrats did a number on you and most blacks. Your black skin dictates your life.All about slavery. Most of you are all blended with whites anyway. So you might as well hate the white part of yourself while you are at it.
The black people I know don't have all that baggage.. they love who they are and moved on. They get it!!
I come across so many black people in my everyday life that have not a problem with this that it amazes me to see there people that still do.
Over heard two black people a couple of months back. One was male and the other female and the female was making a comment that I heard in passing. She mentioned slavery being a biblical tradition (may not have used the word tradition); said something about being a Christian woman and having an understanding.
The reality of slavery in this world is that there is not a race in this would on any continent that has not had their ancestry enslaved at one point in time or another. That is the reality. Why can't people turn a page?
The slaves in the Bible usually weren't kept for life except for certain circumstances. They did try to keep Jews enslaved for life.
I'm OK with no naming after confederate figures. But I have a feeling that you will not be satisfied even with that. Otherwise you'll be happy living in the north but that's not the case.
It's not in the DNA of this country. It was ended 151 years ago. That's almost twice as long as the practice existed in the US. That's 6 to 7 generations. You don't hear other Americans bemoaning the fate of their ancestors who lived in the first part of the 19th century or earlier.

Certain people would like to forget that part of our history, or make less of it. When Michelle Obama speaks of living in a house built by slaves she pointing out how far we've come (she had slave ancestors). Bill O'Reilly's comment that slaves were "well fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government." Geezus! If true I guess that makes it all OK, huh? Many white Americans are defensive because they know it was wrong. I had slave owning ancestors on my mother's side of the family. Is it my fault? No. But I know it was wrong.
