Look around, the people are rising up. What is going on is just the start. You expected to wake up with people marching in the street ala the middle east or France?

Where have you been hiding?

The Republican party should have likely been disbanded after the debacle of 2007-2008 and certainly after it was proven that Bush Administration LIED in order to Invade Iraq, when really they were chasing "Oil". As a result 10's of Thousands of Americans are maimed due to the wars and million and 10's of million displaced and millions killed in and through the Middle East Region.

Hopefully, Trumps mess will finally bring the Republican System to Implode upon itself. Then America can move forward to be better at being the Nation it has design and capability to be and become.
As society has evolved in America, so has its government.

Is there a tipping point? Are the American people united enough to overthrow a government that becomes too oppressive (not suggesting that it's unbearable now, but could reach that point). Or, do they have our psychology in tight reins, able to steer us wherever they want?
WHERE have you personally been pushed to?

No, there is no such point. The citizens/subjects no nothing of human freedom nor desire freedom in any way. As long as their masters throw a few crumbs on the ground they are content as they have know no other way to exist. There shackles are red, white, and blue. They wave their master's flag proudly. They chant "land of the free" while clamoring for the thug government to destroy more of their individual liberty. Slaves for so many generations, that they cannot even feel their chains anymore. Religious zealots praising the Almighty State. Insect ants toiling endlessly to serve the Holy Queen.

As long as the zombie drones have their reality tv, iphones, and a bologna sandwich in the fridge, no amount of deprivation and restrictions on their natural human freedoms even registers with them.

The 3% will have to flee the country to escape a 90% taxation rate. The problem with socialism ( and giving away free stuff) is that you eventually run out of other peoples' money.

No, they won't flee because there won't be a place to flee too.

Mechanization and automation will eventually remove almost all jobs that can be done by the "average" worker. Once we get to machines designing and building other machines with virtually no input from "designers", that will be the end of the economy as we know it.

I don't think this point is too far into the future. Certainly within my life time.

When we get to this point, "Basic" income will be the rule of the day and the basis of the new economy. As I said, I think it is just a matter of time.

The jobs that require real "talent" or "skills" or whatever you want to call it will be far and few between. So the moneyed elite will have no place to go - there will be no place where there is not an permanent under-class. People want to blame this on one or the other - or both parties... but it is the ultimate end to capitalism.

As a matter of fact, I read that some European countries are already planning for BI.

Edit:

Countries already implementing Basic Income.

If people want a moral and ethical government, they have to raise one. It's that simple.
The bolded makes it sound like there's no distinction between the government and the citizens...

Moral and ethical government is also an oxymoron, unless you mean people "governing" themselves without anyone having special authority over anyone else...but I'm not sure why that would be called a government.

Thirdly, what does raising a government entail? Voting definitely won't change things.

I agree with that, and I know that he really pushed for people to take action to change things. I also believe that spreading ideas is the best way to change society. The only use for politics that I see is to have a platform to reach a lot of people. I don't expect "working within the system" (voting, petitioning, getting laws passed, etc) to change anything worthwhile.

What is your (anyone else's) plan to implement your vision of folks governing themselves on a society level? Without a plan, your vision is hallucination.
