Washington (CNN)As the Obama administration welcomed the implementation of a major nuclear deal with Iran on Saturday, it also prepared to close the book on another long-standing issue between the two countries: a decades old legal claim.
The U.S. State Department announced the government had agreed to pay Iran $1.7 billion to settle a case related to the sale of military equipment prior to the Iranian revolution, according to a statement issued on Sunday.
No it isn't. Why was it in Swiss Francs? Any money that was electronically locked would have been electronically released, not delivered in the middle of the night in secret.
Because it is still illegal for the US to make any payments to Iran in USD. It's in the article.
It wasn't secret - the AP reported on it back in Jan, I believe.
Prior to Obama...were there any US presidents that gave US taxpayer dollars to the leaders of countries that referred to America as "the Great Satan" and called for "Death to America" and promised genocide of an entire nation of people if they have the opportunity?
Or is he the first traitor in the White House?
We should have distributed those funds to the 52 Americans kidnapped and held for over a year by Iran. As well as distributed it to victims of Iranian-sponsored terrorism in Israel.

Why does this come out when Trump negativity is at an all time high? Hoping it gets burried or at least blunted to a large degree?
It's a diversion.
Trying to get something else in the headlines, including old news, rather then the defection of longtime GOP supporters or the latest tweet from the candidate.
Johnson, Stein or Clinton
Anyone but Trump
