Yeah, I'm in the camp that assumes at worst NBC offered $600k/yr & Chelsea accepted. At best, NBC offered a lower #, Chelsea countered with a higher one, and they met in the middle. It's called negotiating and I'm a big fan of it.

It's all about ratings and income generated by advertising. There's a significant number of people who will tune in to hear her just because she's the daughter of the Clintons. Kim Kardashian had no experience or skills either but has made millions. At least Chelsey didn't have to make a sex tape.
Chelsea certainly wasn't paid for her good looks, she would have had to pay them...!
She graduated from college at 22 years old and was immediately offered a $600K a year job, no internship, no experience, nothing but a corrupt mother that would pay the company back many fold with taxpayer money..

I honestly don't understand everyone's obsession over why so-and-so gets xx money to appear in public. Nothing's wrong with getting paid for appearing on TV. If you can demand people to pay you to appear on TV, hey, more power to you! Ask Paris Hilton and the Kardashians. You should blame the media and the viewers who watch them as they're the ones who are dumb enough to pay for these so-called 'celebrities'. It's all about supply and demand.
This goes for speeches too. The Clintons can demand more speaking fees than the Bushes because, well, supply and demand.
Wrong, they get paid to give boring speeches that no one listens to because they will give favor ability to those companies, they are paid back many times over by crooked hillary giving them government contracts.
