The more and more money they get the more you should consider voting for the candidates getting the least money.

I believe it has gotten a lot worse though.
There are records amounts of money each year going to politicians

30 Years ago it was not this bad until Corporate and Banking Lobbyists took over DC

See my thread I made here which I went into detail over the take over of this country by lobbyists

Why would it?
As long as it is legal to purchase politicians, nothing would change

The Central Banking Families officially and "legally" took over the "government" and "legally" enslaved all Americans as "human collateral" forever to the impossibility of "debt" in 1913. Everything else is just smoke and mirrors...

That is why the Central Banking Families and Friends have consolidated so much of the people's wealth for themselves and why they will continue to do so until their is nothing left to confiscate through their "money" scams. "Lobbyists" and the people are only left to fight over the crumbs that the parasites of Money Cartel have left on the ground.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered.... I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

The Citizens United ruling was a recent game changer. SCOTUS ruled ( 5-4) that freedom of speech prohibited government from restricting independent political expenditures by a non- profit corporation.

This is the big dark money flowing into politics from anonymous sources with any agenda , from anywhere in the world.

To amend the constitution, it is necessary for 2/3 of both chambers to vote for the amendment and then 38 states to ratify it. POTUS does not get a vote.

The Koch Brothers oversee a massive network of wealthy folk and for example planned to spend nearly $1 billion in 2016, most of it on the presidential election. They held several by invitation only meetings for the abundance of Republican candidates. Many did not get a call back. Recently, the consortium concluded they could not support the Republican nominee and instead would focus on the primaries and campaigns of Senators and powerful House members who embraced their ideology, with an emphasis on free trade and small government. Paul Ryan was a key note speaker at their event last week and a long time beneficiary.

Vast majority of nominee promises/ intentions require Congress to act and fund. There is never certainty that the party of POTUS will support the POTUS.

Adelson invested $100 million into the Romney/ Ryan ticket. Both flew several times to Israel to address $50,000/ plate fund raising dinners. This is all about sustaining the flow of financial aid to Israel. He has indicated he will repeat and support Trump.

Bloomberg intends to spend his wealth supporting candidates who support his global goals, smoking cessation and weight control.

Both parties have their own deep pocket investors who expect a return on their investment and a seat at the table. Both parties feed at the trough.

There's a revolving door between the House/Senate and lobbies and think tanks.

Wake me up when 2/3 of both chambers vote to amend the constitution to get the money out of politics.

Which is why Hillary will win.

Both Trump and Hillary are establishment candidates. But Trump is outsider as far as the ruling elite are concerned. The Clinton Foundation has proven to big business how comfortable Hillary is with big money and genially corrupt she is. Trump threatens to shake things up, and guys like Warren Buffet and Mark Cuban want the devil they know, not a trouble maker like Trump.

DC is desperate to keep Trump out of town.

Why single out banks?

Every industry/ special interest employs lobbies at the federal and state levels.

Big AG, Big Grocer, Big Box, Big Pharm, Big Medical Equipment Manufacturers, Big Hospital, Big Corn, Big Auto, Big Insurance, Big Oil, Big Energy, Big Defense, Big Insurance, Big Religion, Chamber of Commerce, Labor Unions and more invest BIG $ to buy influence.

The voters expect their Senators and Reps to bring home the Federal Bacon, more than their fair share of the Big Federal $.

You skipped Wall Street. Regulators trained by the SEC are VERY popular with all the myriad of businesses sloughing at the high finance trough. If you have an MBA and 3-5 years with the SEC you are made for life.
