If Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump wins the presidency this November, you're going to have to respect them whether you like it or not. Hillary Clinton would be the first female president, and she will demand respect whether you agree with her or not. Trump will demand respect and honor as well as the first non politician president in a long time.

you have to earn the respect, i don't just hand out respect willy nilly.

for example, i don't respect rodney dangerfield and i DO respect aretha franklin.

The concept of anyone who holds the office being deserving of respect simply because they won an election went out the window some time ago.

I feel the same way. Whoever elected is the President whether you like them or not that is fine, but you have to respect the office. Luckily our government allows a new tyrant every 4 years.
