Lets see... Figure 2500-5000 thousand dollars per patient response and we have potentially a 50-100 thousand dollar bill that will be footed by the taxpayers...and valuable hospital and emergency service resources burned up on lowlifes..

Do you realize how many BILLIONS have already been spent on this ever losing "war on drugs". I'm talking just since Bush took over back in 1988, so 30 years now and NOT A DENT.
It is ABSURD to speak about cost when we can't seem to lose enough money arresting otherwise law abiding citizens.
Abe Lincoln said it best: “Prohibition... goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes... A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.”

Law abiding? Right.
Stoners are a blight on society. I say let them rot on the street since I don't want to pay for the results of their actions.
Apparently, one piece of candy was enough to get a user high. But some people consumed the whole bag (20 pieces). Naturally, these folks had a very bad trip, and some probably thought they were dying. Whether they required medical help, or just a comfortable environment to ride the trip out is up for debate. Not sure why they gave an opiate overdose medication for THC. Sounds like a spectacular waste of money all around.
I recall a police officer that had the same issue and had to call 911.

Great quote from Lincoln. How can anyone argue with Honest Abe?

Nice to see your rational and well thought out response.
If the only crime they commit is engaging in a recreational habit less dangerous than alcohol, then yeah, their only "criminal activity" is bogus. Sorry you can't get your head around that simple concept.

This article doesn't demonstrate a problem with pot, it demonstrates a problem with people giving out pot candy and not telling the people what is in it.
