Oh yeah, she was awful.

Paul Ryan has tried to minimize Rand's influence on him, probably because he doesn't want his christian constituents to focus on it. Unfortunately for him, he left a nice paper trail. Paul Ryan and Ayn Rand's ideas: in the hot seat again

Totally agree! I read two of her novels while in high school I think? Not a very good writer either but to build up a whole inane ideology based on her narcissistic views on selfishness? What the heck? Only in America I guess.

It's more than ridiculous for Rand Paul to even attempt to minimize her influence (based on both his first & last name). I get why he wants to distance himself though. What I don't get is why Paul Ryan 'forces' all his staff members to read her poorly written nonsensical blather.

From one of science fiction author Iain Banks' novels describing one of his characters' devotion to the 'faith':

"Libertarianism: A simple-minded right-wing ideology ideally suited to those unable or unwilling to see past their own sociopathic self-regard.”

They may be irrelevant, impotent & even silly but there should be no doubt they're Grand Old Party (as in establishment lapdogs) & right-wing conservative (as in attempting to preserve & expand the status quo).

Articles: The Anti-Trump Right's Sad Quest for Respectability

And here is the Washington D.C.-based CATO Institute (a Koch brothers project, and darling of the libertarians) throwing in with Hillary Clinton...again.

WHEN will people try to see beyond their filters??? It really is "the Good Old Boy (AND GALS) Club" versus the rest of us, folks.......
