How can anybody believe in a great country, The United States of America, asking somebody to give up the honor of carrying his own country's flag simply because he is a white male is acceptable. wow

Well maybe she knows that she doesn't live in a vacuum and isn't insulated from racism and discrimination despite her personal accomplishments.
We'd all like to believe that being a top athlete and competing in the Olympics can isolate you from the real world, but that just isn't true. Maybe the example of Tommie Smith and John Carlos in the 1968 Olympics come to mind. How about Muhammad Ali, also an Olympian, who used his celebrity to bring attention to social justice?
So telling someone to "shut up" because she's accomplished a lot in her life and be blind to the issues in this country may suit your political dogma. But that ain't the case.

Where exactly do you get off talking about my political dogma? It's fine to bring awareness to issues - it's quite another to expect to be given something just because you feel you've been slighted. I'm sick of bending over to conform to all the PC snowflakes. Time to pull up your big boy pants folks - the politicians may suck up to you for your vote - but most of us could give a crap about PC.
