The only people you ever hear crying about this are children of parents who didn't/couldn't leave them anything. It has zero to do with "making the country a better place" and everything to do with a bunch of people who are crybabies who want a cut of something that isn't theirs.

A national sales tax of 15% should be used to pay for a national health care system and tuition free public college. Health and education are basic human rights and crucial for social mobility.
i find it interesting that the only tax you dislike is a property tax. every other tax you seem to like. and you seem to like to raise taxes on everyone.

Who knows, but it will be plenty. Veterans dont have the power to fund the campaigns of the politicians, so they are expendable of course. Its a sad situation. The rich get richer. Ok! I get what you're saying and it really does suck how our government has treated our vets. But that doesn't mean they will take those inheritance taxes and help the vets.

Everything to do with the government has gotten so corrupt. It's like they have been on this all-you-can-spend buffet for years with no consequences. No wonder people are so angry right now.

But I'm starting to see where you are coming from. If only they would put our taxes dollars to good use!

Let me explain the unfairness of inheritance tax ...

The Smith family built a ranching business, working their azzes off 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. They sacrifced ... choosing to reinvest their earnings over a 50 year period, buying a parcel of land here and there as they could manage to buy. Their four children also worked along side the parents beginning at an early age, learning how to work and earn your living. As the parents grew elderly, the adult children took over most of the operations of the ranch, while also taking care of their aging parents. They have all lived on this ranch since birth, and while their 2000 acre ranch may provide a good living, they are far from mega wealthy, perhaps earning $300,000 per year, netting ,$200,000 after it is all said and done.

Then one day, as was inevitable with life, the parents passed away of old age. Uncle Sam immediately steps in, appraises the property at over $30 Million, and levies a $7 Million inheritance tax bill on the adult children of the deceased ... who are then forced to give up the family ranch, and their lifelong home, because government thieves, and their liberal nitwit supporters believe they have the right to steal other people's money and property so long as they call it a tax.

Now the real mind boggling thing is why you believe it's "fair" to steal other people's money, property and homes?

They should stop whining and get a job like the rest of us. Even if they pay 30% on their inheritance income, they would live like kings for the rest of their lives. That will make you happy.

I'm thankful that they don't have inheritance taxes. For one the money has already been taxed at one point. Mrs. Chow just last year inherited a decent chunk of change from her father, nothing spectacular, but we would have had to pay probably 25 or 30k in taxes on that money. To average middle class people that's a damn good sized chunk of money to be on the hook for.

Cry me a river. "stealing this, stealing that". Why dont you go live in the boondocks somewhere so you dont have to rely on civilization and its tax funded "stealing". Seems like the ultimate dream of radicals who believe tax=theft. No water system, sewage system, electricity, roads and schools for you my friend. A true dream.

We are not talking about paltry sums like that. We are talking about tens of billions being given tax free to children who did nothing to earn it and as a result, massive tax hikes on you, me, veterans and the desperately poor elderly are forthcoming. Whats so great about that? Just so the politicians can reward the donors who fund their campaigns! Its obscene that hundreds of billions of dollars will have to be cut from assistance to the most desperate and needy people in the country to make up for this shortfall.

Not really, in reality we just don't want to fund all of your pet social projects that are bound to fail, get abused and help nobody in need.
