People who believe there should be no inheritance tax on Americans who inherit billions simply because they were born into a wealthy family, could you please explain whats so great about creating a new aristocracy in America? Isnt America supposed to be about fairness and equal opportunities, and not economic royalists who didnt work for their wealth?

Opportunities, yes.

Fairness is not guaranteed.

How about this - because it also means people inheriting far less also won't have to pay taxes.

Why the H should the government get any more of someones hard earned dollars simply because they died and left it to loved ones?

You can't be serious. America is about equal opportunities, not equal outcomes.

A person gets free money for doing nothing other than being born to a wealthy family while regular, working class folks have to pay taxes on the income from the WORK THEY DO!

Its mind boggling to me how members of the 99% support turning America into a third world plutocracy with a tiny economic royalist elite at the top.

All taxation is theft.

If confiscation of 100% of the fruits of your labor is slavery at what percentage does it cease to be slavery?

So you don't think that the money earned by these rich people wasn't taxed already? This may come as a shocker, but rich people pay income tax too.

Exactly, so why are you against equal opportunities? People inheriting billions tax free while other living in the gutter with drug addicted parents is not equal opportunities.

Why support a tiny elite who didnt work for their money steamrolling over ordinary folks who have to pay taxes on everything they earn?

But it isn't free money. The parents have often worked hard for that money and have usually paid tax on it both when it was earned and when it was invested. And now you want to tax it for a third time in the name of some kind of equality.

Neither is it billions. 40% tax kicks in at $5.25 million.
