Gabby did nothing wrong and everything right by standing at attention during the Olympic medal ceremony. She, a military family kid, stood at attention while the anthem was played which is the military way to show respect.

Those who attack her are very ignorant of this very acceptable way of showing respect for our national anthem.

"In response to a few tweets I saw tonight, I always stand at attention out of respect for our country whenever the national anthem is played," Douglas wrote.

I think we may have found out why Trump - who is a most prolific Tweeter - has been quiet on the Olympics. Not only has the US been kicking some serious rearside - which doesn't mesh with is "the country sucks and only I can help you" message - but the athletes are all sorts of, y'know, non-white.

That could be. The same person who re-tweet a tweet from a Neo-Nazi is the same one who is quiet about the USA gymnastics team doing well.

They're on the team because they merit it, and it's showed in their performance.

The fact that you disparage that speaks poorly of you, rather than the USOC.

People do the same for the pledge as a sign of respect - though it's not required.

If she had put her hand over her heart, the people complaining would have found something else to complain about.

They would have moved on to the size of her American flag lapel pin. I love the smell of fauxtriotism in the morning.

Did you all see the gymnastics team on Jimmy Fallon last night? They are so cute when they are not under massive pressure! Just jabbering like average teens their age. The hungry hungry humans game was a hoot!

I'm just glad Americans were just as outraged when Ryan Crouser, Joe Kovacs and Sam Kendricks didn't put their hand over their heart during the National Anthem during the Olympics in Rio as they were with Gabby.

Oh wait.
