When it comes to public safety? If one person is detained temporarily to prevent a terrorist attack. I believe it should be warranted. What if police stopped the boston bombers before they were able to drop their backpacks?
National security above everything else. Co-operate for the sake of your country & safety of your fellow citizens. Stop throwing PC TANTRUMS!!!!
I dont mind being profiled for being an immigrant & brown. The people here are very polite & respectful. Let them do their job & stop bullying the system into submission. Religion or your feelings are not above keeping people safe.
No one would jump on Dr Oz for wearing ankle weights and a backpack.
Naw. He's too white looking.
How about this? Wear a veil with a bulging mid section, wires hanging out and a red LED blinking. At some point a little bit common sense helps unless you put CAIR on your speed dial before leaving home.

Did you read your own post or read other sites? She was arrested and it went to court on trumped up charges. She was acquitted on all charges earlier this year. Chicago will lose massively on this one.

I read the link.
The mistake the cops made was not to identify suspicious behavior or even to make the arrest. However, when it was clear that they had got it wrong, the cops should have apologized for the mistake and moved on. Bringing clearly trumped up charges, which were thrown out of court, just makes a bad situation worse and literally invites a law suit.
A young Muslim woman on Thursday sued Chicago police who mistakenly identified her briefly as a potential "lone wolf" terrorist as she was leaving a city subway station last year on the Fourth of July wearing a headscarf, face veil and carrying a backpack.
Itemid Al-Matar says officers violated her civil rights by pulling off her religious garb as they arrested her on subway station stairs, then strip-searched her later at a police station, according to the federal lawsuit filed in Chicago on her behalf.
"Several (officers) ran up the stairs and grabbed the Plaintiff and threw her down upon the stair landing, then pulling at her and ripping off her hijab," it says.
Sorry, in the age of terror. You can't take any chances.

If the shoe was on the other foot, will the response be ... 'oh, that's okay fellows, for the ruff up, you were just doing your jobs. What's a little humiliation, embarrassment and/or psychological scaring, in the name of keeping the public safe?'
