It is sort of interesting to see the different hierarchies of life at work. Everyone has these different priorities of living beings. I wish I could remember who wrote this, but I can't so I'll just quote it:
I'm not sure why killing a pig is viewed differently than killing a dog, other than the simple arbitrary hierarchy that people have. Then when you start throwing "x without y" such as leather without livestock or the ability to create REAL MEAT without having it grown on an animal, it gets even more convoluted. Would you eat human meat if it were produced as chemically and molecularly genuine human meat but was never attached to any human consciousness?
No, it would still seem like cannibalism. It would be great to be able to get animal meat without killing an animal. I like farm animals and wish they did not have to suffer for us.
Have you been to any of our farms and hunting grounds? Killing animals is in no way not repulsive!
You should stop smacking your head. You might hurt yourself.
It could be argued to some degree that killing any animal is repulsive, but since most of us eat a diet that includes meat, there are humane ways to kill an animal. As for hunting, man has been doing that since he started walking on two legs. (and no, I'm not a hunter)
But that is not the discussion here. It is about China. Using electrical prods and skinning dogs and cats alive is repulsive and not humane. No animals should die like that, no matter what the purpose.

Yeah, locking animals in cages for years, often small enough they are barely able to move, so that you can hit them with electrical shocks is humane!
I am saying that in my travels I have eaten both dog and cat. That doesn't mean that I would want a jacket made from either or that I think they make a good meal.
Made in China= low quality.
In MANY area wild dogs and feral cats are a problem.
