Correct. Me too.

I should have said "With only one parent there is almost zero chance of having two full time jobs."

Why would you want to pay more for the same product? Goods and services should be provided at the most cost effective place.

That's not valid. Remember companies moved overseas to increase profits, --not to sell us their good cheaper. There has been no decrease that I know of in the cost of anything made by companies that moved manufacturing overseas, but they are making more profit. Did the price of your iPhone fall after Apple moved manufacturing overseas? LOL!!

The real driver of income inequality?

Besides not wanting to work?

Free handouts from the government. Liberals think someone on the dole should be as well off as someone working hard to get a job above minimum wage.

More important, liberals think distributing the wealth of others to those with their hands out equalizes income. It might in theory do that but it will never make those getting the distributed wealth equal with those creating it.

What does that mean? Maybe you mean that "we the people" should be able to dictate where goods are manufactured in order to ensure it is "cost effective"? I'm not sure that's what you mean. What do you mean?

Actually, it should be less attractive collect government money. Instead of Section 8, bring back housing projects, instead of food stamps, give them peanut butter, bread, cheese, veggies and fruits only, etc. They will not be hungry or without a place to live...

Your not offering serious discussion here. You are just flailing and fussing. I mean, "not wanting to work"?? The wealth inequality has hit everyone. The outrageous incomes of the top 1% have surged ahead of everyone else. Easily 75% of Americans now have incomes that are stagnant while the top 1% have incomes 100 times, 200 times, 1000 times the average of that 75%. And you are saying that the reason 75% of Americans are not keeping up (in terms of percentages) with the top 1% is because that 75% don't want to work.

So I'm not going to lend credibility to such ideas by reasoning and discussing other than to say that this ^^ is what you are saying. Your comments shall be judged on their own merit.

And regarding your statement "liberals think distributing the wealth of others to those with their hands out equalizes income" .... Do you really think returning to top tax brackets like we had under Reagan in 1986 so that we can fund infrastructure projects is a case of "distributing the wealth of others to those with their hands out"??

I think your understanding of U.S. economic history as it relates to our current situation needs work.

So why do Capitalists in this country support them via trading deals?
It is because there is money to be made on the upside from this correct?
If they had to pay for it, they would be singing a different tune correct?

In the 70's, downtown from where I live there were specialty shops with goods from all over the world that never faired very well.

One store was the size of a gas station with cheap goods from China
People opted for higher quality American made goods back then.
That very store went out of business

The problem is availability

You cannot go anywhere today with seeing made in China
The problem started with Organized Corporate Lobbyists banding together and their puppet politicians creating trade pacts, not organized consumers getting together which do not exist.

I'll bet the pro Corporatist would have a fit if Workers, Consumers and Citizens Banded together to fight back
Oh Wait, they already are with being against Organized Labor which is at an all time low

This isn't true but the options are not be like China or continue to do what we are doing. There are many, many options in between.
