Obama needs to demand the immediate release of our Olympic heroes from the clutches of the leftist Brazilian regime. Brazil is a backward, corrupt country from its filthy streets all the way to the Palácio da Alvorada. No one should believe a word from their police.
As much as I usually disagree with the president don't you think he should wait? If they broke the law why shouldn't they have to face charges. Being an Olympian doesn't exempt you.
Outraged for what? They are investigating an alleged crime, and after seeing those videos and hearing conflicting accounts, I think we need to find the truth. Brazil is doing the right thing.
Preaching to the choir there bull, according to a 23.27, (18.27 New York time), news report over this side of the pond, Rio police have recommended that Ryan Lochte and James Feigen face charges for falsely reporting a crime.
Rio's police chief, Fernando Veloso said, "No robbery was committed against these athletes, they were not victims of the crime they claimed was carried out."
They did not report the "crime." From what I have read they did not file a police report. This only came to the attention of the Civil Police upon seeing an interview.

So, when even the police say that there was no report how can they be charged with filing a false report?
They didn't file a report initially, but when the police heard about it, they questioned the swimmers. If they maintained the same story to the cops, then I would assume that's the false report
Jesus Christ, you guys will just say anything to make Obama look bad, won't you?
Brazil is conducting a criminal investigation. They have every right to detain them. They aren't being kidnapped. They aren't prisoners. They're part of a criminal investigation.
The beautiful thing; if the roles were reversed and some Brazilians should have been detained in the US as part of a criminal investigation and Obama let them leave, you'd be here whining about Obama being weak and lawless.
If it was murder or some other violent crime, I would be upset, but not if they urinated on the side of a building and broke a door, and paid for the damages at the point of a gun. I wouldn't bat an eye if our country let them go for that.
The official charge, according to Rio police, would be "false communication of a crime." From that wording, one could presume that the charge includes not only filing a false police report, but also giving false information when questioned by police who are investigating a possible crime.
The classy Brazilians are booing American athletes in Rio today. The Rio police have made an international incident by pursuing something that should have been quietly dropped. On the other hand, Americans are stupid and are taking the side of the people who are booing us, so maybe we deserve it.
