An anti-gun mindset has reared it's ugly head in Olympic game coverage. Has anyone seen much of this part of the competition?
The world has gone crazy when we have made-up sports like water volleyball while shunning classics like shooting.
The rifles used are remarkable examples of craftsmanship, and the skill of the shooters is amazing.
I can imagine the hassles faced by these shooting sports competitiors when transporting their weapons as well as having access to the guns during their stay in Rio.
Is there a bias in the media here?
I have not been happy with the Olympic coverage in general this time around. Too much focus on soccer and basketball, not enough focus on the more obscure stuff that you only get to see when the Olympics roll around every 4 years.
Now, NBC will focus on those events that will draw the most viewers, and hence the most advertising revenue. I doubt we will see much of the 'equestrian dressage' or the canoe events. I guess I should start a thread expressing my concern that the 'canoe sprint' is not televised during the evening hours, presumably due to the 'canoe bias' that exists in the world.
I suppose there are cable channels that provide much more coverage, if one desires.

Maybe so but I watch for the obscure stuff, and never had a problem finding it before this year. And I include the secondary cable channels in that. Some of them are even more heavily front loaded with the BBall and soccer. So you can take your condescension and shove it up your bottom line.

Seven channels showing Olympics is enough for me, and even if there was more, there is no way for anyone to watch everything, unless you tape it and watch later.
