Free advertising for Mr. Elledge's law firm, where he specializes in immigration law "(particularly in dealing with the immigration consequences of criminal charges)".

That was my guess. I was not going to waste time googling it.

Once again, Gramps is a lawyer.

What is funny is conservatives on this site in a knee jerk fashion defend every racist action and then wonder why they can't win Presidential elections. Admittedly not as bad as when liberals keep importing cheap labor and supporting affirmative action programs and wonder why poor white people don't vote their way.

-"Decent" service
-No tip
-No way of identifying waitress as citizen--or not a citizen
-Customer claims not to have written note
-Eighteen-year-old claims to "get that a lot," and that it doesn't bother her
-News media notified
-Although signatures are often stylized, the insult doesn't appear to have been written by the signor

...Color me unconvinced.

I write "cash" on the tip line so there's no mistake.

If it is a waitress I always write "The wife won't let me tip beautiful women". This way I save 4-5 bucks and do not insult the waitress.

The customer has not denied he/she wrote note. See link:

I suggest if you are a racist you do not leave written proof behind in this day and age.
He's not a good lawyer. He has opened himself and the restaurant up to lawsuits, and his granddaughter to be fired. That credit card receipt should have never left the premises except in a shredder.

I've used up my free articles on WaPo this month. Please quote where the couple admitted they wrote it, or had an opportunity to deny they had written it but didn't. Thanks.
