Actually, we have. Just not as much as many of us would like.
(I vividly remember seeing as a child the newspaper photos of emmett till, who was lynched for wolf-whistling at a white woman.)
Note that witnesses helped out and did not pile on to the black man. It really is progress.
You may call them 'not piling on the black man "progress"', but I call it 1970.
That you're using that as a barometer for how we've progressed, proves my point that we haven't.
Does not sound like a serious attack. Probably a punk trying to make a name for himself. I've heard of blacks attacking interracial couples when the woman is black and man is white.
Those laws were before my time tho: some of them were just dumb; like a Mexican could NOT marry a Filipino cause the Philipino was Asian and, ALL Mexicans, even dark skinned Indians, were tagged as "white" back in the day.
My x fiance: a blue eyed blond lady with DayGlo white skin; she has "Black girl" face features, where they came through we don't know cause both her parents were anglo white.
I suspect those features could have to do with some Native American ancestry from a long time ago.
Most people are still a little put off seeing Blacks and Whites in a physical relationship.
It is difficult for the families of both involved, and rarely works out in the long run.
It may become more acceptable as time passes, but could take centuries.
Just my observation.
Any statistical proof or just more conjecture? You haven't even met 15% of the worlds population, so how can you conclude what "most" people are put off on?

We could carry out a simple experiment, but I doubt you would find the result to your liking.
Loving v. Virginia was decided in 1967, and was bitterly resented.
I don't think that there is a state today where a majority of voters would support prohibiting interracial marriage, but in 1970 there sure were.
I'm aware. That was almost 50 years ago and you still have people in this thread saying most people aren't comfortable seeing a white woman flirting with a man who wasn't white.
Not enough progress, in my mind. Not after fifty years.

And you think that c-d posters are representative of the population as a whole?

Not as much as I'd like, for sure.
But for the past eight years, a black man has been president. You can choose to focus on the people who can't stand that fact, or you can focus on the people who approve of him. In spite of the hatred that's been directed at him, his favorability ratings for this stage of his presidency are healthy, and compare well with other post WWII presidents.
Bad enough there are crazy racists walking our streets. Don't let them inhabit your head as well.

Obama's half "Black"; tho racists on BOTH sides tag him as full "Black", I still see the POTUS as mixed race.
