Actually, lying isn't really a crime. As anything can be said under the 1st amendment.

The only thing that can happen of it, is they prove the lies and let the persuasion of the case proceed.
If found guilty, the lies one is caught in add up at sentencing.

So, it's your belief that once one person gets away with breaking a law or rule, from that point on, everybody should get away with it?

Is this just for politicians, or can we apply it to private citizens and companies as well?
