Come now. The city, state and federal response to Katrina were all inadequate. But just bush got heaped with invective and claims ranging all the way up to one us senator saying they killed thousands of blacks and buried them in a swamp... And blowing up levees.
political theatre around race is getting dangerous when incompetency and corruption can be shielded against if you're from the right party.
Let's see. For Katrina: A very large Cat 5 Hurricane was threatening the gulf coast and Bush went to California for a golf/birthday party. 1800 people died as a result of that storm and Bush said and did nothing but a fly over while thousands of people were trapped and dying at the Astrodome and Sports Arena. It took like 3 days before buses showed up to help those people.
For Louisiana floods 2016: Big rains were predicted but no one foresaw the catastrophic floods that happened. Obama was on the phone to the governor the day it happened telling him he would give any and all help needed and has been in touch with said Governor continuously. He has now been invited to survey the damage by the Governor now and will come down later this week.
Now you see the big difference. Of course Obama haters and Trump supports won't. But you can't fix those who are blind to the truth.
PS. Trump was blasted by the "media" because he showed up despite the governor asking politicians not too and did nothing but get a photo op in.
I catch what you're saying but: I think the word is "perception" here. Katrina, Bush 43 owns it. This crazy flooding, Obama owns it.
Actually, media says Obama is honoring the request of local officials and not wanting to divert resources away from flood victims. Hmmm, isn't that exactly what the Bush Administration said was the reason for them not landing way back in 2005? No media source said that was responsible, and people openly accused Bush of hating black people.
No.. they want more media attention.. more!! More!! And Obamination does nothing but play golf.

A phone call.. wow!! real big difference to the dumocrats.
Most of it; beginning with name of the dome.
I'm not interested in rehashing Katrina; I lived it.
It was a failure on all levels of government,
but primarily state and local.

Katrina was the worst natural disaster in the US in recent history. The federal response was the main criticism.. But nice try Katy..
