If you're against universal healthcare, but support taxpayer-funded public schools (or vice versa) -- what do you think is the key distinction in why you don't support/oppose them both?
your comparison is total crap. but i dont want the federal government involved, or involved as little as possible, in either area. the problem with the feds is that they use a one size fits all approach, and while that works with the military, and perhaps the EPA, and a few other federal agencies, it doesnt work with health insurance nor education.
federal solutions to state problems only cause more problems.
Who runs government? People. Who runs businesses? People PLUS money.
Maybe... just maybe... people suck.
Giving people power to control others by force and take their resources makes them suck worst of all. Businesses have no power to boss you around and take your money.
And the reason the government sucks at running things is because they outlaw competition and can just tax you or print more money. Not much incentive to provide the best services or cut down on waste and inefficiency.
People always say we need government to prevent monopolies, so apparently the answer is to create one giant monopoly that has more power over you than any private business could have.
Raising children is each parents responsibility not the taxpayers.
So its the employers responsibility to teach his needed employees to read and write if he cant find any??? Or does he just import educated employees from a country that does educate them?
Usually employers prefer the government subsidize the education of his employees. Its the same reason businesses dont want to build their own hiways or water treatment plants or other infrastructure.
