I don't think there ever will be a war like WWI or WWII again with that large numbers of soldiers fielded. They were really about empires trying to engage in military conquest of each other. Now it's about economic and immigration conquest. But who can say there won't be that kind of slaughter again for sure.
Before the Great War European monarchies tried to breed war out by marrying family into one another their thinking was that blood relation would never go fight each other. Why the English royals change their name after the out break of WW1 from their German sounding name to The House of Windsor they have today...man will kill his fellow man no matter what we as humans do to try to deter it whether it be a NWO,ethnic cleansing, political or religious affiliations we have been killing each other since Cain and Abel with improved capabilities.
In one morning, on the beaches of Normandy, more American troops were killed than in 14 years in Iraq.
By the end of the first day, none of the assault forces had secured their first-day objectives. Allied casualties on June 6 have been estimated at 10,000 killed, wounded, and missing in action: 6,603 Americans, 2,700 British, and 946 Canadians.
On one hand I am relieved that our military is adopting better approaches to battle than just throwing bodies at the enemy.
On the other hand, given the numbers of casualties of American's in ANY conflict, why in the heck are we involved in these wars in the ME that only result in instability and chaos is a region that will NEVER know peace?
