Multiple vials of epinephrine + syringes = $20. I absolutely detest what Mylan is doing because they haven't innovated anything, but if you hate them, hit 'em where it hurts and learn to use a syringe. Diabetics already know how. Everyone is absolutely capable of obliterating a company like Mylan with a little bit more effort.
No. The people are helpless. The people need their masters in DC to "do something".
Maybe the price-hike will discourage helicopter-mom from demanding unnecessary drugs from path-of-least-resistance doctors for their hot-house flower children. The drug supplies should go towards those that actually require them.
I just love how some CEO's give themselves a raise, in this case making 18 million, on the backs of those less fortunate. It's just pure greed and to hell with those they profess to help. One person dying will cause a huge lawsuit against them.
They aren't in any business but business.
Does the tire dealer sell you the least expensive tires the the most expensive you'll pay for? You could use your car to get back and forth to work to earn money for food, think they really care?
Drug companies aren't hospitals nor are they your doctor. They make something you want, Epipens are an alternative option).
Are you kidding me. So you're saying that doctors give in to parents when they know their kids don't need a certain medication. This isn't about being a helicopter mom. This would be a liability on doctors. Most excellent post...not.

Medications for ADD. Parents get children diagnosed, treated and medicated for that all the time, in spite of warnings that it isn't necessary in.some cases.
Treating kids for ADD became the popular thing to do for parents who couldn't parent and teachers who couldn't teach.
ADD can't kill you but allergic reactions can.....so no comparison.
Since when?
The medications for Add/ADHD can contribute to depression and suicide.
Regardless, the Epipen isn't a necessity, itnis optional treatment. Please, don't try to link a preventable incident with a mandatory need for something.
People with serious allergic reactions go on to live.long lives with using an Epipen.

Oh good grief, every medication has a warning about depression and suicide. That's only because pharma wants to cover their butts in case it happens. You can also have heart attacks, bleeding and everything else they can think of. You obviously have no idea how the epipen saves lives. My good friend has a severe peanut allergy. She has had to use the epipen to save her life.
What monopoly? Epinephrine can't be controlled. Autoinjecting needles and syringes isn't technology controlled by Mylan. Mylan basically makes $599 filling the autoinjecting needle, that's it. You can literally buy the drug yourself for $1 or less and fill your own needles with guidance of a doctor. Consumers should destroy Mylan by supplying their own epinephrine.

Our politicians will put on a dog and pony show but I doubt that will do anything about the price gouging.
Almost all our Congressmen are millionaires. Who do you think they are really representing?
Epipens sell for 2/$85 in France.
