I know this is dated, but it's worth watching today as we see so many LEOs with the attitude that they need to tell the people how to live their lives. This retired captain gets it. LE should protect people from other people, not protect people from themselves.

I agree, the war on drugs has been a disaster--I would handle drugs just like alcohol..use responsibly and 'no worries'

Break the law..and drug use is no excuse--or even an aggravation factor..as in the case of impaired driving.

The Govt. should not legislate morals--and I'm not talking about laws against Murder or Rape--I'm talking about what a person chooses to do with his/her body. Whether it's ingesting the substance of your choice..or the choice to end your life..it's your right--and not the Govt.'s business.

In this case, I'm defining Responsible use as..as no other laws are broken..as a result of the use...I do not advocate the use of any of those substances--but if we are willing to accept the deaths of children as the inevitable price for our 2nd amendment rights..so also should we accept the inevitable fall-out from the legalization of drugs.

I believe in personal responsibility, for all ones actions--and I don't believe it's the Govt.'s business what you chose to do with and to your body.

Using it in your own home. Or any place where there is no chance of harming others.

The fact that you had to explain that to him is a head shaker. These authoritarian types should really convert to Islam and go live in Saudi. The moral police there get to dictate everything to everybody.

Many vice crimes should be decriminalized.
