When Riley Cooper was caught on video threatening and calling an African-American security guard a "******", Cooper apologized and stated that he would accept all consequences. The NFL did not fine Cooper or take any disciplinary action. There was public silence.

When the NFL accused Colin Kaepernick of calling defensive end Lamarr Houston a "*****", Kaepernick and even Houston denied it. An NFL arbiter also concluded that Kaepernick did not use a racial slur. The NFL, however, still fined Kaepernick $5,512 for "general profanity", which both Kaepernick and Houston denied. Kaepernick was the first player ever fined by the NFL for "general profanity." There was public silence.

A week prior to that, Kaepenick had also become the first player fined ($10K) by the NFL for wearing pink non-Bose headphones to support Breast Cancer Awareness. There was public silence.

Kaepernick protested against police brutality, now there is public outrage.

Kaepernick has reminded us that in America free speech is really paid silence. In America, you can stand up for the flag but not for equality (which should be represented by the flag). In America, it is wrong to exercise a fundamental right. In America, there is more public outrage about protest than about the actual injustices that caused the protest.

its not that he protested what he sees as police brutality, its HOW he protested it. there is a difference.

Hehe.......we had people calling Lot a king and now saying Moses grew up a slave. I think those who slam other religions should get to know theirs a little better.

His career is over. He forgot the 1st rule of sports entertainment - do not alienate thine audience - they're paying your salary.
