It's great that they banned all those automatic machine guns. Those guns are cyborg robots and would kill anybody in sight on their own. Now I heard only semi-automatic guns are available - I guess that's why the killings are a lot fewer than before.

Look when you get as much practice with guns as the Thugs of Chicago get, you are bound to start hitting your target eventually.,... Looks like all that practice has paid off.

It's not just Chicago but many cities. Louisville already has far more homicides so far in 2016 than in most years, we're on pace for over 100. ER's are also being overran with drug overdoses. I've heard that the drug cartels are loosing money due to marijuana become legal in several states and are trying to get more people hooked on heroin.

I told you we should have banned all the assault weapons.

Ending the drug war would be a much more effective solution. Giving guns to drug addicts ain't a good idea.

Hmmm, I live in a small rural city. Almost everyone has a gun. We have had one murder in the last seven years.

Yes, so your comparison works when talking about Chicago.

So what do you think inner city hoodlums are going to turn to without the drug trade, farming?

Just because you'll get to smoke weed legally doesn't mean that the problems of the inner city will go away.

Are alcohol dealers killing each other?

Giving drug addicts guns is about the stupidest thing, not coming from a liberal, i have ever heard.

"By midnight on Wednesday, 90 murders had occurred in August alone, making it the deadliest month in Chicago in about 20 years."

What happened? Where are all those social programs hiding?

"The surge of violence comes at a trying time." When is a good time? Maybe if the pot wasn't stirred so much it wouldn't boil over?

.."many here seemed to be grasping for explanations of August’s particular level of bloodshed and for new solutions." It's known as barking up the wrong tree. But that's the only tree they know how to bark up so don't expect Sept. to be much better (although it's only 30 days).

They want to have prayer meetings. The Activist Priest, the Governor, Chicago's Police Superintendent, The mayor, the media, all are scratching their heads. So they think, anyway. What they're really scratching can't be mentioned where minors might read it.

Throw out the old non-solutions. They're part of the problem. No more social programs, no more prayer meetings. Don't keep expecting different results from the same thing.

Buy everyone a gun and 100 rounds. Teach them how to shoot well. Fine anyone not carrying a gun in public.

Do the body count in a month. It can't be worse.

How many people will die? They don't have to! It can end, people can be saved. But not if we keep on keeping on.

It is not the guns. It is the socioeconomic demographics of the residents that reside there.
