Furthermore, I think immigration should be allowed based on employment rates. The higher the employment rate, the more we let in. When unemployment increases, we slow the flow.
This is not about you. Digest the post and you'll notice that the point is that some sort of anti-immigrant sentiment is fostered by some politicians whenever the party system is at risk.

To be fair: legal immigration needs to be slowed down, too. I'd love to see our laws go back to what they were in 1964.
Whenever the U.S. political system runs into a wall and begins to fall apart as it now is, a strong anti-immigrant sentiment is fostered by underhanded politicians. At the time of Lincoln's nomination for the presidency, those who drove the anti-immigrant frenzy were known as the "know-nothings" because they were a secret society, sworn to secrecy, and if asked whether they knew of or attended any anti-immigrant meetings, they were to reply "I know nothing about that".
Today they don't hide, but with the Republican Party on the verge of collapse, they are easily found.

OH, you must mean ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. That's quite different. Maybe you need to make that distinction when you post things about immigration. There's legal immigration and then there's illegal immigration. The two things have very little in common.

Are you unaware of any strong anti-muslim immigrant sentiment in this country? If so you must be living under Iraq, because I'm pretty sure at least one presidential candidate has included it in their official platform.
Both Oligarchical parties want illegal-immigration, they want uncontrolled immigration.
I think the best that will happen if Trump get elected, is he will give some executive-orders pertaining to immigration and illegal-immigration/illegal-immigrants......these orders will die with the next POTUS. Legislation that gets passed will be the same as usual.....anemic and poorly enforced.
