The picture looks a bit to perfect for me to believe. If they OD'd on heroin how did they survive? It really looks like they are just really drunk on alcohol.

In either case these numbskulls are completely unfit to be anywhere near children. Unfortunately the kid is the real victim in this situation. Good luck to him. To Hell with them.

The police were carrying narcan and were able to get to them in time. Seems like the woman was already passed out but the man was driving erratically which is how the cops caught them. Thank goodness they were caught before something worse happened with that poor child in the back. The dad passed out as soon as he was pulled over.

Opiates have a very powerful addiction, once you are addicted you literally think about nothing else. As smoker I know what addiction is and unless you understand addiction it's very difficult to describe how powerful that urge can be. Many of these people don't start out with heroin. This has become an epidemic reaching into all communities because of doctors over prescribing powerful pain medications like Oxycontin over the last decade. They get hooked on the prescription medication. Those pills are extremely expensive on the street leaving them with the alternative of heroin.

An overdose is relative term and may not kill you or kill you immediately. The affects of heroin can be very similar to someone that is very drunk and half asleep, the term used here is nodding off. They may go in and out of consciousness and with enough of the drug full unconsciousness and/or death. The narcan if administered in time will immediately bring them out of it.
