Walmart Forced to Take Down 9/11 Display Because Everything is Offensive | Truth Revolt

Do you find this Coke Display Offensive. The store built the display in honor of the 9/11 Tragedy. It is reported they have since taken it down.

Offensive? Nice Display? Honoring those lost?

I agree with you. I don't see that it's offensive. Now if it said, "9-11 Fire Sale!" or ""Get your Coke before it all comes down!" I would find those tasteless ads. I think they did a great job on the display.

It's more stupid than offensive and it wasn't honoring those ĺost, it was a commercial ploy to sell a soft drink. Dumb move by the local Walmart and the local coke bottler.

Exactly. It was not done to cause offense, but it was done for the wrong reason and just really insensitive and stupid. It would appear to have happened because everyone involved at every step lacked emotional intelligence and social skills.

This sort of thing would probably happen more often except that somewhere in the chain of events there is usually someone who can see how stupid it is and has the clout to put a stop to it. People can be remarkably clueless.

I don't find it offensive. I don't think they should have done it without Coke's permission though.

I do find this offensive though:

These things are not offensive. They are just stupid. 9/11 is not some kind of holiday. It's a terrible day that has been burned into the memory of millions of Americans, and it's best left at that. Most of us do not need a reminder.

I agree with you. That ad is just strange. I don't think the company was trying to be offensive, maybe insensitive is the word.
