Hassidic Jews are a perfect example of a closed culture, most Muslims have assimilated but yet there is this gross generalization and double standard when it comes to Muslims. There are Muslim teachers, athletes, soldiers, policemen that are an integral part of our society yet the gross generalizations because they don't dress as you want. Quite the double standard.
What is not fair is that now they do not want to treat this as a 'hate' crime: Muslim woman set on fire in New York not targeted due to faith: police | Reuters. This attack received national attention because the media was wishing they could say Trump's name in a negative war. They would never mention it if it was simply a Black man - look at the number of people killed in Chicago ever week without any mention. To me, setting people on fire; should be a 'hate' crime no matter who does the crime! You are talking about a very sick criminal that does not belong in society ever again.
Well, people are killed in NYC every week and barely get a mention, too. But not many people get set on fire ON FIFTH AVENUE, one of the most expensive shopping districts in the world. Yeah, sucks to be a poor victim rather than a rich one, but they gotta sell papers and nobody cares that a low-level drug dealer got his ass popped by another low-level drug dealer in a rundown neighborhood. Not saying people SHOULDN'T care about them.
So insightful. No ones knows about the Amish or Hasidic Jews. No one know about the Indian nations..... Everyone thinks everyone just assimilates except , brilliant, well educated liberals.

There are roughly 3.3 million Muslims in the US. Why don't you get a hobby like going across the US and interview every Muslim to see just how many haven't assimilated to YOUR definition of assimilation. I'm curious, how do YOU define assimilate??

How long did it take your family to FULLY assimilate? Do you and your parents speak Urdu? Do they, or you, show any signs of your/their culture in their home or with clothing?
Whatever you and your parents experienced in Pakistan, tell me how many times you and your parents had the same or similar experiences in the US by American Muslims?

I am a Liberal from the Muslim world.

And indeed,, sociologists have actually spoken of "re-traditionalism" which sees 2nd and 3rd generation reverting back to conservative cultural traditions that 1st generation and new immigrants often work to get away from.
