A University of Houston grad student active in the local Black Lives Matter movement is suddenly all for police patrols in his neighborhood — after he was robbed at gunpoint outside his apartment.
Jerry Ford Jr., described as one the leaders of the BLM movement on campus, tells KTRK that he spotted the young man loitering outside his apartment one evening last week but thought little of it. But when he went to unlock the door, the man pulled a gun and stole Ford’s wallet and cell phone.

Maybe the decent Black people are starting to wise up to NOT having the cops around is asking for trouble?
Most decent black people have always known this. It's the idealistic young people of all colors who you have to wise up. Many do as they grow older and experience the real world after college and being coddled by mom/dad and their support groups in their "safe" spaces. Too many never get a clue since they lack self confidence and exist believing the propaganda from the hate mongers (who often have a monetary agenda) and follow like sheep to slaughter.
The real world just caught up to Mr. Ford and he's lucky to have survived it.
Excuse me, but it seems that a distinction is being missed here.
I want cops to catch bad guys, and even maim or kill bad guys if necessary.
What i don't want cops to do is pull someone over for a busted tail light or for not using a turn signal and the person ends up shot to death because he didn't kiss the cop's ass sufficiently or because his eyelids blinked....an action that cops determine to be a symbol of resistance. And of course, people like the OP eat it up and say "oh, he twitched his nose? Well that's a sign that he was threatening the cops and the cop SHOULD have shot him."

When a small percentage of only 13% of the population is responsible for 69% of all violent crime, one drop of poison, kills many.

Whatever. If that's how it's gonna keep going down, then so be it. Black folks aren't the only people that can die in that war. As we've seen from current events, cops aren't immortal either.

Are you part of the problem, or part of the solution? From that tone taken in the post I quoted, you are part of the problem.
Your life must not have much value for that attitude.
When a white guy tries to fix it, he is called racist(Trump) When a black guy tries to fix it, he fails miserably making it worse than when he first started(Obama)

This is why to me BLM has ALWAYS been a stupid and misguided movement because their anger has mostly be misdirected at the wrong target or at the very least most of their time and energy has been spent on a problem that relatively speaking is much, MUCH less of an issue compared to black on black violence and murder.
Its ashame that so many blacks and their supporters can't seem to understand this and that it has to take people like Jerry Ford here to become a victim of crime themselves before they're willing to change their minds that maybe, just maybe not all police are your enemies and that you need them around to keep people safe and especially to keep black people from destroying themselves.

Well maybe if so many black people didn't commit so much crime and violence and give the middle finger to authority figures every chance they get, then perhaps they would be treated more equally like everyone else and be given the benefit of the doubt more often. You can't continually be violent, criminal and treat everyone around you like trash and then expect people to treat you as equals when YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE. Sure it sucks for those blacks that are decent and law abiding, but that's what happens when a large enough percentage of your people are behaving badly EVERY DAMN DAY and get a bad reputation. If there's anyone decent black people should get angry at its the thugs and criminals among them that ruin things for everyone else.

So, whatever.
What if the bad guy has a busted tail light?
