Haven't you noticed that Trump uses these wild stories about his political opponents, points to them and suggests, gee there good be something to that, we need to get to the bottom of this, and settle it once and for all. Then the candidates are taken off message, forced to waste time addressing whatever rumor it is.
Trump did it with Cruz's father, "Hey, did you see that photo of Cruz's dad? What's up with that?" He did not say he agreed with the rumors, just drew attention to it. Meanwhile what happened? Cruz went off the rails over it, was taken off message, and ended up wasting a lot of precious time on it and as well.
Obama himself could have ended it a long, long time ago. He didn't. In fact he really made no attempt. It doesn't take much for a conspiracy theory to take hold. Think back, he had a Grandmother that said he was born in Africa, the publicist stated he was born in Africa. A volunteer in Hillary's campaign put the word out. It should never have gotten as far as it did. Obama should have shut it down by producing his birth certificate. Now for those who feel this is strictly a racial issue, keep in mind that McCain's eligibility was also questioned.
The President produced his birth certificate in summer of 2008, BEFORE he was elected the first time.
Clearly Trump and some number of others were sleeping in caves during that election season.
The candidate leaves the dirty stuff to the campaign to feed the press and that is what Hillary's camp did to try and block Obama's election because she is a racist who hates blacks and whose mentor was a member of the KKK.
They are doing that today. Digging the dirt and feeding the media

By this admission, Barack Obama can be charged with High Crimes and Misdemeanors by lying to the American public and submitting a fake document about his legitimacy as President.
