Addictive recreational drugs are foolish and so are laws prohibiting such.

Your thread title is an outright lie. Per your very own link you provided, if you had read it, says that this enables doctors to prescribe heroin for addicts, it has NOT legalized it for general use.

And you fell for the lie because you don't bother to read beyond a false thread title.

Seems to be par for the course here on CD.

Having Doctors that can help addicts get the help they need is a good thing. Treat addiction and addicts as the health issue it is, instead of useless incarceration.

Like the island analogy.

Unlike alcohol, no one dies from heroin detox. They just feel like they are.

No shortage of addicts who go cold turkey in jail, often related to charges of shoplifting and theft.

Once out, they don't stay clean because their drug of choice is readily available. All they have to do is beg, borrow or steal to make it happen.

I don't think all the drugs you mention have the same addictive qualities as an apiate/ opioid.

It wasn't legalized. Canadians aren't that stupid, not like some stoners in the US.

Of course idiots put themselves in a position to get hooked. Why should society foot the bill to get them cleaned up? Let them rot in the streets.

No, they did not legalize it to be sold like that, it is handed out by doctors, so it will come out of the pockets of the tax-payer.

I added the 2nd link to snopes so that people can read the full story. It explains what the legalization in this case means.

The title of your thread is still a lie. And as we all know, many people only read the thread title without bothering to read any further.
