Imagine if that were you opposite the man holding the gun, I'll bet your opinion would change.
If you want to respond to what I said, great. If you want to place words in my mouth, don't bother.

The armed Charlotte man who was shot and killed by a police officer ignored multiple warnings to drop his weapon and posed “a threat” to officers, the police chief said Wednesday.

According to Putney, Scott stepped out of his car near an apartment complex armed with a handgun. North Carolina is an open carry state, which means residents can carrying firearms openly in public places without a permit or license.

Police say that Scott got back in the car as officers approached, but ignored “loud, clear verbal commands” to drop his weapon.

Scott exited the car again and still held onto the gun as officers kept yelling to him. Vinson, who was in plainclothes, fired after police determined he was “posing a threat,” Putney said.

Putney denied rumors from social media that Scott was reading a book when he was shot.

“The story’s a little bit different than how it’s been portrayed so far, especially on social media,” he said.

He is under no obligation to drop his weapon. The cop can't demand him to stop what he is legally allowed to do.

If he pointed it at him, we need a more complete picture.

You never, ever pull a gun on someone, unless your prepared to shoot them. Because once you pull out that gun, you have a split second before he shoots, to defend himself.

That is common knowledge.

That is why, these kids, using fake guns to rob stores, get shot, b/c they look just like real guns....

Some people think using a gun is a game, to threaten, it is not.....
if you pull a gun on someone, you'd better be prepared to shoot or get shot.

We do not know that the "gun was pulled on him" nor the complete circumstances.

Could be. Holding a toy truck can get you shot at so I suppose it's possible.

Why were the cops bothering him if he wasn't the one who had the warrant?

If you are holding a handgun and the cops tell you to drop it? That's just a special kind of stupid. So maybe the cops are tired of "special kind of stupid".
