You really cannot make this stuff up. Now the Democrat left and the AGW alarmism extremists have passed a law that allows for the regulation of cow farts, which are a source of methane gas. The absurdity of these people know no bounds.

Quote:
Cow farts can now be regulated in California

California Gov. Jerry Brown kept up his assault on climate change Monday, pushing through a law meant to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions from dairy farms and landfills.

"You know, when Noah wanted to build his ark, most of the people laughed at him?" Brown said, per the Sacramento Bee, adding that that ark saved Earth's species.

The state's Air Resources Board can also now regulate bovine flatulence, as long as there are practical ways to reduce the cows' belching and breaking wind.
What about people farts? People fart methane too. Shouldn't those also be regulated by this logic?

Some of you lefties will surely want to be first in line for the fart monitoring jobs. If that's you, please post below and let us know.

You people crack me up. LOL.

I have a hard time being on board with someone who claims scientific grounds for something, while in the same breath references the bible as if it is a modern day history book.

About the only way I can see reducing cow fart is putting them out on REAL pasture eating what nature intended instead of the corn mixtures that are fed to increase productivity.....

Or putting a cork with tubing in it to capture said methane for burning.....

they should all be equipped with little pilot lights to torch off the nasty methane at the source.

Although the animals do directly emit greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere the major source is the manure collected from the holding pens and milking sheds. As this material degrades it emits larger amounts of methane than the animals. Most places with concentrated collections of manure use anaerobic digesters to break down the manure to fertilizer/soil conditioner and collect the methane to use as a process fuel. Free range cattle drop their waste far enough apart that it is oxidized by the atmosphere without emitting much methane.

Regulating places with large concentrations of livestock does make sense. Now to do something about the smell. I remember riding a motorcycle up I-5 and nearly gagging on the stench of some huge cattle operations.
