During the Little Rock riots, the Arkansas Governor declined to act or use the state Guard to quell the riots.

The Mayor of Little Rock circumvented the Governor and Eizenhower put the Arkansas State Guard under federal control and sent it the 101st airborn to assist restoring order.

Federal courts would not allow an Operation ******* like operation to exist today.

Then, like today, the driver of illegal immigration was and remains recruitment and employment of undocumented workers. Then, like today, there are no consequences for employment of undocumented workers.

That operation was primarily focused in parts of LA and Texas and certainly did not result in the deportation of all illegals.

At the same time as this operation was going on, the federal government doubled the number of visas so that more Mexicans could legally work in the US. Those with political connections got visas for their Mexican Employees.

Take note of Trump's Border Plan and his comments. No mention of his intention to deport the 11-12 million illegal immigrants who have not been convicted of crimes unrelated to immigration. He has deflected to the future.

Anyone who votes for Trump expecting to see a parade of 11-2 million illegals being deported will be dissapointed.

( I am not voting for Hillary or Trump)

Is there really a difference between a radical Islamic terrorist and an American "protester"? Both seem to be protected by the media and our current administration. Why is this group of madmen permitted to continue burning, looting and beating up white people and cops? We have the means to stop them.... but first we have to stop minimizing their actions by calling them "protesters".

If the KKK did what this mob is doing, the government would already have called in the military to stop them with force. The media would be referring to the mob as hateful, evil, bigots, not protesters. Anyone disagree?

The Governor declared a state of emergency and National Guard was deployed.
This is common when riots exceed the ability of local and state LE.

Good politics is preventative medicine. He cannot save it. He can only buy a little time.

Whatever. Let it burn. I said on the first day of this nonsense that they should roll the tanks but this administration will never show any force or strength. And as for the constitution, ironically, this is one of the specific constitutional uses of the military. The constituion allows the use of military force to 1) supress rebellion; and 2) repel invasion. This falls in the former Category.

The presence of the National Guard marks the beginning of the end.

That is the first step. The balance, and where Trump (and Obozo for that matter) should step up, is to use the power of the federal government to ensure that they are charged, prosecuted and sentenced for terrorism. A couple decades in prison for their violent crimes would do some good for their communities. The "slap on the wrist", if there is ANY effort made to prosecute them, only encourages and empowers these domestic terrorists. As does a "president" that empowers violent thugs with words of support while attacking law enforcement officers time after time. All while refusing to charge and prosecute domestic terrorists with federal crimes.

Coming from the person that thought the average person in Africa didn't own a cell phone in 2016 and is referring to the continent as if it isn't a make-up of over 50 countries.

You might want to wake up for class yourself. I can tell you've missed a few geography and foreign history classes

A nearly-forgotten story from the nobler days of the civil rights struggle -- that might be a little bit relevant here:

Funeral sermon by civil rights pastor Rev. Vernon Johns applies to Rev. Jerry Falwell - Democratic Underground
