But a new Ambassador to the US will need to be appointed.

Probably the best and fairest way to handle this from the UK's perspective is to just not say anything else about it until Boris Johnson takes over as PM and then he can appoint someone new as part of the massive reshuffling that is sure to take place as part of him installing his own people in the top government leadership positions.
The Ambassador was due to be replaced by the end of the year anyway. I don’t think he did anything wrong if his opinion was honest. You don’t know what information he was privy to (that you aren’t!) in the Washington circles he frequented which helped form his opinion. Everyone has an opinion about Trump.

I agree he needs to be replaced, but not by Theresa May and only because he has become a liability due to the revelation and can no longer do his job effectively. It should be the new Prime Minister who does the replacing though.

the diplomat may have been the collateral damage, not the primary target of the leaks, say U.K.-based political analysts monitoring the fallout.

Even to pragmatic supporters of plans to withdraw Britain from the EU, though, Darroch's imminent departure was predictable — he was expected to step down at the end of the year. To that end, experts believe forward-looking Brexiteers had another goal: to pre-emptively sink Darroch's presumed replacement, current cabinet secretary Mark Sedwill.

Sedwill, a longtime confidant to outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May, is widely seen as the top candidate for the ambassadorship. But he's regarded as skittish about a no-deal Brexit.

It is hilarious that Trump is using his ridiculous "people say" (i.e., the spawn and assorted flunkies) that the queen had the best time she had in years--just writing this makes me laugh. And he believes it! If only walls could talk.
And we are to believe you because "you say"? Dear, if Queen Elizabeth told you that she had a good time with Trump your face, you would curl up and wilt like a dead weed. But you would never admit that it was true.

May's government is finished including her appointments such as this ambassador. Anyone who has participated in this topic NOT for the purpose of bashing Trump, knows this.

Interesting.
Just like they didn't when Chelsea Manning (Bradley) leaked all the dirt from Obama's diplomatic pouches that revealed a lot more than name calling. The only difference? He got caught and the the dirty deeds far far worse.

It was clear from the visit, not covered by the American MSM, that she had a good time with the Trump family.
No matter where you come from, if you visit the queen you don't walk in front of her, unless you want to be considered an uneducated chuff.

Of course things are clear when one sees what one wants to see.

According to Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald, a referendum on Irish unification is likely to happen 'very quickly' if the UK leaves the EU (with no deal).

However, the Irish government's Brexit spokeswoman was not appreciative of these remarks, because she found them to be destabilizing.

Quote:
Irish Government urged to prepare for border poll

The Sinn Fein president has urged the Irish Government to start preparing for a border poll now as the risk of a disorderly Brexit increases. Mary Lou McDonald said a referendum on Irish unity could happen “very quickly” if the UK crashed out of the EU at the end of October. The Dublin TD warned of an economic border emerging between Northern Ireland and the Republic and called for the state to prepare for constitutional change.

Fianna Fail’s Brexit spokeswoman Lisa Chambers said Sinn Fein’s position on Brexit has been “tempered” and accused the party of using it to advance its political agenda of a border poll. “She said we must be preparing now and I think that is utterly reckless,” Ms Chambers added. “Talking about a border poll when Brexit is just 114 days away only further destabilises the situation we already have, and certainly if we have a Brexit crash, the last thing our Government should be doing is preparing for a border poll.

“It needs to help our small to medium enterprises, our hauliers, because a lot of businesses will be looking to Government for significant support.”
But she certainly did not rule the possibility out altogether, did she?

Ireland should reunite and the protestants in NI should move to Britain.

I don't think Queen Elizabeth is so petty. And furthermore, she's the head of state. And as head of state, she knows that she can't elevate herself above other heads of State. In the USA that's the President of the USA. There would be no such protocol at play.

The Queen's family, with the exception of Harry's wife, seemed to have a very good time with the Trump family.

Jeremy Corbyn has finally slid down the slippery slope on where the Labour Party stands on Brexit. Until now he has insisted that Labour was in favor of Brexit, but would support a second referendum on any deal that was reached.

Apparently, not anymore.

Today Corbyn has announced that the Labour party will support Remain should a second referendum be held. He is also against leaving under any circumstances without a deal with the EU in place. But he and the Labour party are opposed to the deal already negotiated, which Parliament has voted down decisively on three different occasions, and which the EU has consistently insisted will not be reopened or renegotiated under any circumstances.

And now he supports putting any deal, or no deal up for a referendum. So, that pretty much covers the full gamut. Labour now supports a second referendum. And in that referendum, they will campaign to Remain.

Quote:
Labour will campaign for Remain and against Tory Brexit deal in a second referendum, Jeremy Corbyn confirms

Labour will campaign to remain in the European Union and against any Brexit deal negotiated by the next Conservative prime minister, Jeremy Corbyn has announced.

The Labour leader has written to party members confirming that the party will seek to reverse Brexit unless it wins power and secures its own agreement with Brussels. In that scenario, its position on leaving the European Union will be debated and agreed when its manifesto is drawn up.

In a letter published today, Mr Corbyn said that any future leader should have the “confidence” to put either no-deal or their own agreement to a public vote.
Of course this is electorally a big problem, as there are a lot of districts that have supported Labour that are passionately in favor of Leaving, with or without a deal. The expectation is that these districts are now likely to be lost to Labour, making their prospects of taking control of Parliament in a general election very difficult indeed.

Hehe, no, she is not pretty, as if that had anything to do with it
On the other hand, she is more than just another head of state. She is not a nobody such as Germany's Steinmeier or any of those people that come and go after 4 years or so.
