more likely he couldn't get any points for being a veteran or minority. But go ahead and gloat how you got your job all on your own
EAsy to talk big when you know you'll get preferential treatment. Try earning something on a level playing field, then talk big. Oh BTW I never applied for any Govt or civil service job-I prefer to earn my money and employment on merit. Off to the beach now!!
LMAO @ "off to the beach now." Am I supposed to be impressed?
Whether or not I got preferential treatment is neither here nor there. My money still spends the same as yours.
Y'know, when I first read the OP, my initial thought was that engaging in a black boycott of work is ridiculous. As a black person, that's something I can't get behind. Unless my employer is directly treating me unfairly, I have no good reason to protest (whether its a protest of my employer or otherwise). Lots of other black people agree, but maybe our opinion isn't well represented in social media. Its hilarously sad that people would follow the urges of a multi-millionaire to boycott their jobs in protest.
And then I land on a gem like this post. We'd be sadly mistaken thinking the ignorance is coming from one side of the fence. According to 'donsabi', if blacks did boycott work today, crime would drop precipitously because, you know, our primary employer is criminal activity. You're right, donsabi. I should take the day off from my engineering job, notify my wife, a nurse, to do the same. Phone my sister, an attorney, and get her to take the day off as well. I might even call my brother, a teacher, and get him to join our protest. Hey, we have to do our part to make sure that school children don't get shot and the police get a vacation day, right?

Love all the stupid replies in this thread. Typical "I'm going to berate & stereotype blacks in this thread & then wonder out loud why they won't vote for my candidate in the next thread"

I like the idea, but I think in the real world, anyone trying this would just get fired. It's an employer's job market.
An alternative could be to boycott all non-essential spending for a week and broadcast why on social media. If enough people do it, it may just send a clear message. $$$ talks.
But 95% of American considers them to be a hate group. One that instigates violent crime as demonstrated in Charlotte this week.
But the ones in Charlotte doing all the looting and violent acts are the ones who are not employed. The blacks in Charlotte who have jobs was not at the protest and was home getting ready for work.

The victim stance is a powerful one. The victim is always morally right, neither responsible nor accountable and forever entitled to sympathy. Psychology of victim-hood..
That could be interesting. Especially since there are quite a few at-will states where employers can fire employees for any reason at the drop of a hat.
No pay for the day. No sick days .No personal or vacation days. No pay for protest days.See how many will stay home.

There are people working in government who would run circles around many others in terms of academic achievement. Stop making excuses for lack of ambition and performance.
Off to the beach? Yes, I know the feeling. I live minutes from one of the top beaches in the world and just a short boat ride from another. Truly the life...
