Actually it does, there have been other candidates that ran for office that were not born in the US and the issue never came up. You need to explain why the sudden interest in birth places that lasted 8 years.
Surely you have seen the caricatures of Obama in native outfits back in 2008, they wanted him to be from Kenya, even after the birth certificate was produced they just couldn't help themselves.

And obviously the Clinton campaign would never respond to such an accusation. Why would they legitimize such nonsense? Normal Presidential campaigns, whether Dem or Rep, don't respond to wacky claims from fringe hate websites.
Obama didn't keep this story going for 8+ years. Trump was a major contributor in keeping this issue going. I understand that now Trump would like it to go away because it is now inconvenient and makes Trump look foolish.

It is a simple yes or no question.
It's a stupid question, because A. Obama isn't white, B. Trump's supporters aren't racist against whites; they hate blacks, and C. No President in history except for Obama has been black, and no President in history received such wacky accusations.
But yes, IF Obama were white and IF a bunch of KKK wackos were claiming he were foreign-born, then I suppose the motivation wouldn't be racism, but just general hatred of foreigners. You could probably call it nativist idiocy instead of racist idiocy.
I could care less where Obama was born at this point in time, however, there is one glaring entry on his birth certificate that makes one wonder. Obama was born on Aug. 4th, 1961 in Hawaii, his race was entered as "African American". There was another birth certificate issued by the State of Hawaii to another African American born on Aug.7th, 1961, the race was entered as "Negro". The term African American wasn't really coined until the late 70's. So, yes, all this does is fuel the debate. However, it's all water under the bridge and it will die out like all the rest of them.
Well, this is the main point with the birther issue, nothing racist about it. Obama never produced a birth certificate that was consistent with one issued by the hospital in Hawaii in the year of his birth. Add to that, the state of Hawaii is very politically corrupt, and very pro Obama in political ideology, they would phony one up for him at the snap of his fingers. It would be very easy for him to fake a birth certificate from Hawaii. Maybe he lost his original BC, or maybe he was not born in the US. I still think there is reasonable doubt, even if it is water under the bridge.

Obama is not white - he's mulatto - half white - half black. Trump supporters aren't racist - you only profile the whole lot of them as such.
