Which of the "common sense" gun laws that hillary wants would have prevented this one?
A 14 year old boy flips out, kills his father, then goes to an elementary school and starts shooting.
Background check? Nope, no such thing for a theft! (by the way, Washington State recently passed a "Comprehensive Background Check" initiative; it apparently did not even slow the Cascade Mall shooter down!)
Age limit? Nah, it is already illegal for the kid to have a gun.
Gun free zone? Huh-uh, once again that did no good at all!
Murder? Obviously he did not care that it was illegal to kill people.
Luckily, he didn't manage to shoot very many, and only killed his father, from what I heard.
Both the Burlington, Washington and this shooter helped themselves to their parents' weapons. No doubt his parents never considered the possibility their son would kill one of them and then head to a school.
This shooter seems to have taken a similar path as Adam Lanza, kill parent then head to the nearest elementary school.
He was home schooled. Not known if this was due to parental ideology or a reflection of the boy's situation.
From 2005-2014, there were an average of 3,536 fatal unintentional drownings (non-boating related) annually in the United States — about ten deaths per day.1 An additional 332 people died each year from drowning in boating-related incidents.2
About one in five people who die from drowning are children 14 and younger."
"I own weapons and believe in the 2nd amendment--albeit more on the militia side."
Then I presume you are in full compliance with Article XIV of the Idaho State Constitution...
I do comply with Article VI, Section 13(2) of the Montana State Constitution.
We have no age or gender limitations here!
The real tragedy here is that this kid felt so out of it that he figured his only recourse was violence.
LoL...had to look it up...a bit archaic--this was actually formed in response to the importation of Pinkerton operatives used to break the strikes in the Silver Valley--with much loss of life--but as a US veteran and former Reservist--I would judge myself in compliance. In fact, private, ad hoc, militias are probably illegal in Idaho..unlike Montana.
This kid....had a history of armed violence..hatchet--and the parent(s), should have never allowed him access to any firearm--Dad paid the price--in full---but I hope that others take a stern lesson from this--the only true gun control is you--controlling your guns and other peoples access to them.
Hmmm...a lot of assumptions here..I'll try to address them:
I have no gun agenda..I own weapons and believe in the 2nd amendment--albeit more on the militia side..rather than as an absolute right to unbridled gun ownership. How you got I'm, 'anti-gun', out of my posting of a news link escapes me.
My title.."Yet another School Shooting"...was meant to convey both the truth of the news event in question--a shooting..at a school--with students injured--and my worry that this is an ongoing trend--10 in 12 months is a lot--IMO.
Not sure if I really have any 'obsessions', at least as far as C_D goes.
A quick look at your back posts might lead one to believe that you might have an obsession or two of your own--but I'll not make that contention.
Thanks for the data on accidental drownings--not sure why you included it..but it did remind me to lock the gate on the pool--so--thanks!
You also have reading comprehension problem.
I made NO assumptions.
I asked questions
"10 in 12 months is a lot--IMO."
Obviously.
IMO, not may reasonable people would agree with you.
"not sure why you included it"
Read my first response.
I will ask AGAIN.
What is it that your are so concerned with that you started a thread on it?
Deaths?
Only gun deaths?
There are MORE swimming deaths then "schools shootings" yet, you did NOT start a thread on swimming pool deaths OR ANY OTHER method that out numbers school shootings, so you must HAVE SOMETHING ABOUT guns and school shootings.

*Yawn*
Your assumptions are implicit in your questions.
Must I have? My point..if I have one..was made in a previous post.
I started this thread because this is an issue of concern to many people, not just me.
I shall endeavor to eschew meretricious rhetoric in the future--and thus not obfuscate the obvious.
He was being home schooled because of attacking a student last year with a hatchet. Now this. Tell me again why we can't execute minors?
Because our brains aren't fully developed yet and it would be similar to killing a mentally ill person.
