This guy is the real deal! Unfortunately, I don't live in the Philippines and can only vote for Trump. Life is full of compromises.
The general consensus is he's a nutcase and makes Trump look like a level headed, smooth talking, rational guy. I don't really blame the U.S. for not wanting to give guns to him. Some people in the Philippines don't even have a high school education they don't really understand what they did to their country by voting for him.
On a side note this is another example of how Obama is a complete failure on multiple levels he should invite Duterte to the U.S. or something and talk to him. Whether we like it or not it's who they voted in as their president.
The CIA Meiring incident is showing up a lot in the recent news after Duterte asked US special forces to leave. See reason five in the following article.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s plan to “kill all” the country’s suspected drug users and dealers has many foreign critics, including the United States, the European Parliament and the International Criminal Court. It now has at least one high-profile supporter: President-elect Donald Trump, at least according to Duterte.
In a statement Saturday, Duterte shared details of a seven-minute conversation that took place Friday. He said that during the call, Trump endorsed his campaign against drug users and dealers — a campaign that has left at least 4,500 Filipinos dead in about five months. Trump told Duterte that he was doing it the “right way,” according to Duterte’s account.
I don't know if I'd trust Duterte's account of anything, but it really wouldn't surprise me if Trump thinks his way is the "right way".
Based on who he tapped as AG, he supports a very strict approach to eradicating drugs. Obviously, he won't order DEA to murder drug users (I hope), but there is a good chance legal pot is a thing of the past, and that prisons will be full of drug users again.
