Lawmakers Fret Over Sept. 11 Bill a Day After Veto Override - NBC News

“I’d like to think that there’s a way we could fix [it] so that our service members do not have legal problems overseas, while still protecting the rights of the 9/11 victims,” said House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), who backed the bill in public statements though he did not cast a vote during Wednesday’s override.

Some lawmakers have advocated making changes to the measure during the post-election “lame duck” session, but Ryan said he didn’t know when the issue may be addressed.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Thursday the law could have “unintended ramifications” and needed “further discussion.
Too late to make changes now, the first lawsuit has been filed.

The problem started with Reagan, and his support of Iraq against Iran. That ran right into the first Bush Administration. Washington, as a whole is responsible for all the events that caused 911. Our leaders made some bad decisions and picked sides in a war that did not involve them, and provided the materials to kill thousands of Muslims. Our Government gave a nod to the use of Chemical weapons, then condemned the use of them, but did nothing to prevent them from being used. The second Bush may not have been able to stop 911, but his actions continued the aftermath to this day, and is being continued by Obama will be under Hillary, if she wins. The Bush "War on Terror" has resulted in the Global Jihad against Americans by radicals, to this day.

It's hard for me to imagine why someone wouldn't understand this. I'm at a loss here.

I don't think anyone in the ME is going to sue our service members overseas, unless they're satisfied with garnishing their civil service or military salaries. The suit would be against the United States and the assets exposed would be assets of the U.S. govt., just as in the suit filed by the 9/11 widow.
The "unintended consequences" is that some major corporations could be held jointly liable because they were there acting under government contracts.

The Saudies were merely stage hands.

The suit tends (seeks) to fix the blame of 9-11 on Saudi Arabia.

Blame changers are blame shifting and blame shapers, again.

Like a Hurst shifter, made in the U.S.A.

Saudi Arabia is in serious jeopardy.

Congress is up to BIG WAR. Congress needs a "reason" for a popular war.

The amount of money in this suit is a pittance.

Trump could pay the pittance, personally, just to thwart the war.

Screw the Congress.

Hey Trump, make the Saudis pay your debts, and I'll vote for you.

"Some Lawmakers" also voted against this Bill, and you can bet those are the ones that still do not accept the fact that it was passed, and shut down Obama. I am sure they are the ones that are making all the noise, and claiming that it puts our People in Danger, when it really does not. If that worked so well, then why are we paying ransom to release people held by foreign Nations? Why are people still getting arrested in other Countries, and have been for years? Its all scare tactics by the Left, because they got shot down, and now can't protect Nations that do not have our interest in mind. They could not stop it with votes, so now they are trying the lies.

Remember, that this Nation Obama and Hillary want to protect, kill women at will, by beheadings and stoning, and kill Gay people. As far as "our" people being put in Danger, best thing I can tell Obama is not to put our people in places to do things against the Nations Laws, and no one will be put in Danger. If one of our Citizens wants to go to a foreign Country, for big pay checks, or to cause trouble, that's on them, and we don't need any deals that set them free at our expense.

Americans are tired of people in Government who want to protect other Countries more than their own Citizens. Obama and crew should get the message. He isn't there to do what he wants, he is there to do what the People want, which hasn't sunk into his head for 7 years.

That would be a "Bonus" for Trump. A big "Incentive" for Corporations NOT to move their operations to cheap labor Countries. I don't have a problem with a big Corporation being sued by their host Country, since they chose the place to build.

You can also bet that the "Lawmakers" who did not vote for the veto against Obama, have these Corporations in mind too, and acted on their behalf, and not the "worry" that our citizens would be in danger. We know why Hillary would follow Obama, since a lot of these Corporations are her donators. Look through the smoke and mirrors.

All she has to do is prove that the Saudi government aided and abetted the 9/11 hijackers. So far there is no evidence of this.

This appears to be a possible link:
9/11 families focus on unproven connection of Saudi officials to attacks

Of course there isn't, at this time, since there are a lot of results from investigations that have been "Sealed" and not open to the Public. There has to be a reason that this was done by the Administrations. Now, these reports can be requested as evidence in a Court of Law, and its will be hard for the Government not to produce these papers.

If our citizens can sue a sovereign government for damages done in our country then I think that their citizens can then sue our government for the damages we have done (for whatever reasons) in their country. Now think about how much damage other countries have done to us compared to the amount we have done to them

I believe that this act will result in the confiscation of most of the American investments in countries ranging from the Middle East to Central and South America (Iran/Contra anyone?) This will be fun to watch.
